An organ or tissue transplant means giving a person with a critical or life threatening illness a second chance at life. It creates a wide spreading ripple effect as it means hope for not only that person, but for all of their family, all of their friends and all of their loved ones.
Around 1,500 people are on Australian organ transplant waiting lists at any given time.
This is very close to my heart because my brave cousin passed away from Cystic Fibrosis at just 30 years of age om 15 June 2019.
Without Becky’s selfless donors for the two double lung transplants that she had during her life, we would never have had the joy of having and loving Becky in our lives for as long as we did, I am extremely grateful to her donors, there are no words in the world to even begin to say thank you for their selfless act.
By choosing to register as an organ donor, you could save the lives of up to 10 people and improve the lives of many, many more.
I am proud of my decision to become an organ donor. There is nothing more incredible than knowing that even after you are no longer present in this world, that you can continue helping others by impacting and changing their lives in such a significant way.
Please consider registering as a organ donor today, please consider saving another's precious life.
